PROGRAM
The TESOL International Mexico four-week TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certified teacher training course consists of 120 hours of practical and theoretical input, observation of experienced teachers, supervised self-directed study and reflection and hands-on teaching practice. Our goal is to provide teacher education and encourage the participants to be autonomous, confident, resourceful and ready to interview for jobs in the field of ELT (English Language Teaching) so that they are well prepared to start teaching upon completion of the course. We provide our trainees with a toolbox to enable them to deliver lessons of a high standard and we aid and direct them on how to find a job in the world of ELT.
Ongoing topics in the course include all aspects of the English language such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation; the language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing; lesson planning, practical teaching techniques and classroom management for individual and group classes for all levels and ages; language games and activities and using modern technology in the classroom. The course includes eight hours of supervised teaching practice as well as live observations of experienced teachers which take place in a variety of contexts.

Monday
9-9.30 Meeting with course coordinator. Review of previous week.
Feedback on progress, assignments, etc.
9.30-10.30 Input: Planning a skills lesson.
10.30-11.30 Input: Internet resources for language teachers.
11.30-12 Break
12-1 Input: Language analysis-the simple tenses.
1-2 Review of lesson plan with supervisor.
2-4 Break.
4-5 Module work.
5-6 Observation of live lesson and feedback.
6-7 Teaching practice.
